Since 1998 the Cooke S4 set has become a favorite of many. These of course have the known “Cooke look” with their control of flare, distortion, and veiling glare. These lenses also have spherical aberrations when fully open at their universally fast T stop of 2.0. The S4 series also has a very strong close focus. Additionally, the set is color matached with the Cooke anamorphic and the Cooke 5 series. This makes this set very easy to use with other Cooke lenses
Cooke’s /i Technology enables cameras to automatically record key lens data for every frame shot, allowing post-production teams to access it digitally. Featuring key information on lens setting, focusing distance, aperture and depth-of-field, hyperfocal distance, serial number and more, it streamlines production and post and saves time and cost to eliminate guesswork.
The S4 series has been used on a number of Major motion pictures, with it being used by Spielberg, Wes Anderson’s Oscar Nominated French Dispatch, and HBO for many of their prestige television including Game of Thrones.
